Promoting English Language in Schools

 Rwenzori Information Centre Network (RIC-NET) in conjunction with RWECO all operating in the Rwenzori region has been carrying out sensitization to improve students participation in English language through various activities like training English teachers in computerized teaching.  
 
RIC-NET invited various schools to participate in Easy writing, poetry and painting under the themes “How adequate have the government interventions in boosting Agriculture and education sectors been in light of the different, NAADS, USE and UPE initiative”, Art and painting under “A child friendly environment”.
 
Poems attracted several schools in the 7 Districts of Kasese, Kyenjojo, Kabarole, Bundibugyo, Ntoroko, Kamwenge and Kyegegwa.  
 
Many schools were invited in Kasese District and some didi not participate. Those which participated are  Mutanywana S.S, St. Thereza Girls S.S, Kilembe S.S, St. Charles S.S, St. Johns P.S Maliba and Bwera Dem School. 
 
Mutanywana S.S.S  emerged the best over all performer followed by St. Thereza Girls which also had the over all best student in Essay writing. Best participants were rewarded with certificates, and a few scholastic materials.

On delivering certificates to all the participants in the above schools this week by the RIC-NET staff the students, pupils and teachers were filled with joy and happiness receiving good news of harvest.

 for having intervened in the Education sector and motivating the learners to join such competitions.

WELL DONE GOOD AND FAITHFULL PUPILS

Following the art and painting competition that RIC-NET conducted in the region between May and August 2013, it was time to reward the participants with certificates of participation and simple gifts for the best participants; these included Mathematical sets, and Art and painting kits. Every participating school was also given copies of the education magazine showcasing in it work of the best participants in the region. In Kabarole district the RIC-NET Information Officer visited the five schools(Rwimi, Rubona, Kigarama, Kyebambe Model and Harugongo Primary schools) that participated in the competitions to deliver the results, certificates, magazines and gifts. Similar exercises have been conducted in the other districts of Kamwenge, Kyenjojo, Kasese, Ntoroko and Bundibugyo. Here below are photos from the visits to schools in Kabarole district.

After the essay, poem, art and painting competition that was conducted by RIC-NET between the months of June and August 2013 in Kamwenge district it was the time to reward every school that participated in this region.

Every school that participated received results and certificates. Participants were rewarded certificates of participation and copies of the education magazines that showcased work of the best performers in the Rwenzori region. In Kamwenge district the RICNET e-society center staff visited three schools (Kabuga, Kanara and Ntara Christian primary schools in the two sub counties of Kibale and Kitagwenda.
